Early Periodic Screening Diagnosis and Treatment
(EPSDT)
EPSDT is a program for children from birth to age
twenty one (21) who have Medicaid or birth to age
nineteen (19) with KCHIP coverage. With scheduled
checkups, minor health problems in children can be
caught before they become serious. Diseases like
chickenpox, mumps and measles can be prevented by
routine immunizations. Any physical or mental
development problem and hearing or vision problems
can be treated.
These services are provided at no cost to family
members with Medicaid or KCHIP. Services may be
received at your local doctor or the health
department clinic.
